The HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning)
that is present in a building or part of a building that is for assessment will determine the Qualification & Accreditation Level that the Assessor that you commission must hold to be able to undertake the assessment and produce the required EPC. Over 97% of buildings will meet the requirements of a Level 3 Assessment, with other buildings (including those under construction) therefore requiring a Level 4 or Level 5 Assessment.

Simple HVAC will include most of the separate heating and cooling methods that we're all used to. A standard boiler or a warm air blower. The usual types of split unit air conditioning. Extraction fans and destratification fans. All fit the definition of 'Simple HVAC' and it is often the sophistication of the control systems that will define a system as 'Complex HVAC'.
