COVID-19

STATEMENT

Covid-19 has impacted us all and has changed our lives in many ways. We're now very aware of the personal risk that COVID-19 represents to you and to us and we continue to adjust working practices and equipment to meet the challenge. We will continue to deliver energy assessment services as they remain required in law, in as safe and responsible a way as is possible, and we embrace the following Trust Mark guidance for trades people who are working in homes and places of work:-

1. Our assessment can only take place if no one at the property is displaying Covid-19 symptoms.

2. Our assessment can only take place if no one is isolating at the property.

3. Tell us if anyone in the property is clinically vulnerable.

4. During our assessment face to face contact should be minimised and social distancing maintained where it is possible.

5. Please use PPE as necessary - we respect that you may wish to wear a masks whilst we're in your home.

6. Ensure that the property is well ventilated with windows opened a little in most rooms if that is possible.

7. Whilst we are in the property we will need to see all heating , cooling and ventilation equipment fitted in the property including boilers, hot water tanks and water heaters, air conditioning units and all of the controls associated with these units. To help in this regard, it is helpful to leave cupboard doors open or move furniture and belongings so that we can see the units clearly whilst minimizing our need to handle your possessions and door handles, etc., within your home.

8. Feel able to ask us to point out any surfaces or handles that we have touched so that you can disinfect them once we've finished.

9. Don't be offended when we refuse any offer of refreshments - our visit is only short and we'll make our own arrangements.

10. We encourage payment using internet banking, avoiding cash if possible. A pro forma invoice will be provided. Please note, that if you are the tenant at a property, then your landlord should have made separate arrangements for any payment due.

11. If you or anyone in your household shows symptoms of Covid-19 within 14 days of our visit to the property, do please inform us so that we can take any appropriate steps to protect ourselves and other customers.

That helped....

I'm happy I know what to do next....

We're pleased that's been of help to you and that you now feel able to make decisions about your EPC needs and the steps that you now need to take.

Don't forget, we're not lawyers and that you should seek specialist advice to confirm what is offered here in good faith but which may not be specific to your circumstances or which may have been changed by other legislation and guidance of which we may not be aware.

Still unsure....

I'm still not sure if an EPC is required....

Whist these notes will address most generic situations there will be other situations which require additional information.

We're always happy to discuss particular circumstances and to share our experience with you. We may also engage with our Scheme Help Desk and other assessors to see if they have experience relevant to your situation. The important thing is that you get an answer where and as soon as possible.
